EPIC AquaGrow “Mini” Aquaponics System Cultivation Experiment #2

OVERVIEW:

EPIC AquaGrow "Mini" (Indoor) Aquaponic System. In addition to the Complete System Set-Up this Kit also Utilizes a (100 Watt) Full-Spectrum Horticultural LED Lamp (Equivalent to 250W HPS) w/ Adjustable (2.5'-8') Aluminum Stand. Used to Grow Crops Indoors or act as a Supplemental Light Source for Shaded Crops, as Shown Above.

EPIC’s (1st) Cultivation based Experiment proved that heavier feeding crops like tomatoes, peppers & hemp based cannabis can be successfully propagated & grown to maturity utilizing our AquaGrow “Mini” Aquaponics Kit.

During this experiment we will continue to test the system’s ability to optimally cultivate reproductive crops; this time Observing the Quality & Quantity of the Flowers & Fruit Produced. The capabilities of the AquaGrow Mini System will be tested by growing Bell Peppers, Strawberries, Snap Peas & Basil Crops.

The Basil acts as a “Control” since it’s the only vegetative crop being grown. This will allow us to determine if vegetative crop production is affected during the growing process as nutrients levels fluctuate over time.

EPIC’s (3) Patented Aquaponics Quality Control Supplements will be used to manipulate the bio-chemical processes that drive aquaponics, enabling naturally automated system parameter control, as well as add the limited nutrients vital to reproductive growth.

The EPIC AquaGrow "Mini" System Houses a Single Koi Fish around (6") L. Should be able to provide the Fertilizer needed to Grow the Crops in the System. Seen swimming next to the Blue Bio-Filter which Filters Out Particulate Matter as well as preforms Nitrification

DISCUSSION (11/04/19):

The Following Crops were Transplanted into the EPIC AquaGrow “Mini” Aquaponics System on (10/28/19):

- (1) Bell Pepper

- (1) Strawberry

- (2) Snap Peas

- (2) Basils

All crops were transplanted while primarily in their Vegetative States Bearing No Flowers or Fruits. About (5) Days after Transplanting, both the Bell Pepper & (2) Snap Pea Crops Flowered; by Day (7) the First Signs of Fruit appeared on both. Fruits measure about (1cm) in Size.

View of the EPIC AquaGrow "Mini" Aquaponics System's Drains & Feeding Tube. Red Spigot = System Drain or Decrease Flow Rate to Crops. Central Drain Empties the Collection Tray into the Fish Tank; Screen = Filter for Debris. White Tube = Opening for Fish Feed; Detachable Funnel included for Easy Feeding & to Attach Automatic Feeder.

On (11/03/19) (1 Tbsp) of the Patented “Nutrient Quality Control Supplement” was Added to the System in order to provide the crops with limited macro-nutrients vital to reproductive growth, such as P & K as well as micro-nutrients including Fe, Zn, Mn & More.

This will allow crops to produce larger fruit, even during the early stages of Nitrification when nutrient concentrations are relatively low within Aquaponics.

Complete EPIC AquaGrow Mini (Indoor) Aquaponics Kit Set-Up in my Own Backyard. Traditionally the LED Kit is Suited for Indoor Cultivation but the Backyard is Constantly Shaded during this time of year & therefore need to Utilize the (100 Watt) LED Lamp Kit to provide the Crops with the PAR they Require

NEXT POST (11/18/19):

Keep an eye out for my next post in a couple weeks where I will discuss the progress of the Crop's Reproductive Growth within the EPIC AquaGrow "Mini" Aquaponics System Kit
